When Rolf van Meurs became eight years old he had a wish.. A guitar! From that moment the guitar has played a leading role in his life.

After high school he went to the conservatory of Tilburg in the Netherlands where he started his guitar studies with Tom Burmanje. Later on he got lessons from Enno Voorhorst. He also discovered the flamenco style and technique with Maurice Leenaars. In 2012 he graduated for his bachelor, with an 9,5. In that same year, 2012, Rolf started a master education. He went to the Lemmensinstitute in Leuven, Belgium, where he was thaught by Raphaella Smits. During this period, the romantic guitar by Stauffer became his main school subject. He did research to discover the life of Luigi Legnani. In 2014, he obtained his ‘master in music’ diploma with honors.

Rolf launched a CD in 2015 as a highlight from his research to the life of Luigi Legnani. On this CD there are some unknown works of Luigi Legnani. With this CD, Rolf wanted to promote the music of Legnani to the public. And with success... He was a guest in various radio program's, including 'Opium' and 'Podium' on Radio 4. He also gave a Legnani-concert in Copenhagen (Denmark) on a invitation from the 'Dansk guitar Selskab'.

In november 2015 Rolf played two times the 'Concierto de Aranjuez' with the Orchestra of Utrecht.

While he studied he also followed masterclasses. He got lessons from Zoran Dukic, Roland Dyens en Marcin Dylla. Besides giving solo reciltals, he also gives regular concerts with Alto/mezzo-soprano Lieke Beirnaert.

Rolf also playes the electric guitar. He played for years in several bands en shared the stage with great artists.

He also teach lessons on the guitar by 'Phoenix Cultuur Veghel', 'Centrum voor muziekeducatie Boekel' and his own practice in Heesch. He teaches children and adults how to play the guitar.
